My Thoughts in Pictures

~
~

Spent way too much time today gathering and tweaking images to use in the Complex Collage class I am taking with Julie Prichard and Chris Cozen. The idea being to create a library of unique original images to use in collage works. Above are some of my favourites, details from my artworks and photos of my sons. This could bloom into a serious obsession.

Ideas are coming fast and thick right now. But the execution...therein lies the rub.

  6. Love these, the boys drawings are amazing. I hear you about the ideas pinging but the execution lagging, that's where I am on our little project. I've had it on hold for a while, time to dabble in my paints again and see what happens.
Thanks for being such a constant inspiration.

  9. Oh, Evangeline, those drawings of your boys are wonderful. So, much texture, so much depth. I absolutely love the invitro image, so pear, so paisley and in a way that strikes me as Art Deco.

  11. Thanks so much guys! The boy pics are not hand drawings though, they are done on photoshop. (just not wanting to take credit for skillz I don't have ;)

And @Julie I know you will! Can't wait for the rest of the course. :)

  13. If there ends up being four comments by me, all gushing with joy over your posting I am going to feel like a dumbass, but Blogger seems to be eating my comments for breakfast.

First, I don't know how I have missed this for so many weeks, but you cannot imagine my joy to discover this yesterday. I love the execution! I love giving you art comments! Look how rewarding you make it! How can I communicate in a way that can be put in our Nerd Art project that this is one of the tangible connections that I so value? Deb comments about doodles and it resonates with me and inspires me to take action way up north, Keeley posts a picture of a suitcase she's made into a table and the inspiration ripples begin as I think of whether I could possibly execute so divinely, Mel looses a beloved tree and a poem in a magazine that was mention in our corner of nerdfigheria presents itself in a hole-in-the-wall restaurant dive next to the store where I am picking up Ensure and babyfood for my mom, and I love that magazine and it has a poem that makes me think about Mel and her tree. And it doesn't feel like a world wide web to me, it fills like a world wide pond of inspiration, support, sharing, creativity, communication, inspiration. And it's all there accessible when the time is right, when we're ready to take a dive and swim around in it.
